Gujarati (ગુજરાતી) is an Indic abugida, written left-to-right without a headstroke (48 million users). Used in India since the 16th century CE for the Gujarati and Chodri languages. Also used alongside Devanagari for languages used by the Bhil people. Related to Devanagari. Was used mainly for bookkeeping and correspondence until the mid-19th century.
